CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALITY
FOCUS: Ladder of Contemplation – Powers of the Soul – Interior Conversion
Creating the “contemplative gaze” to see the bonds we have with all creation, for ”only a contemplative gaze” can change our relationship with created things and lead us out of the ecological crisis caused by the rupture of relationships – with God, with our neighbor, with the earth – resulting from sin.” (Pope Leo.)
ECOSYSTEM – FAMILY/GROUP

FOCUS: Watershed – Ecological Virtues – Lifestyle Changes
Create the capability to create ecological virtues for transforming our daily actions as a family or group, that gives spiritual meaning and value to our actions, and that changes our wasteful ways of living, e.g., foods, use of water, plastics, cars, etc.
Create ecological virtues related to the watershed you live on
as well, that lead to lifestyle changes individually and as a family.
GLOBAL ISSUES – CRS PROJECTS
(Chapters Three/Four)
FOCUS: CRS Projects – Conscious Choices – Societal Changes
Create a CRS (Catholic Relief Services) annual appeal structure in the parish or school essential to making access to clean water projects a basic human right for all persons. CRS Sustainable Water Project in Ethiopia is an example. Create fun activities that creates consciousness of the excessive consumption habits of our lifestyles versus those of persons in the impoverished communities in the world.
COMMUNITY – CARING ROLES

FOCUS: Community Outreach – God’s Love – Common Good
Adopt essential service agencies in the community and engage the persons and services involved in a caring mode: “caring means we become the instrument used by God to bring out the potential of the most vulnerable and the environment.” (Pope Francis)
